Downloadhelper for Firefox conversion fail

Asked by Ewm

Downloadhelper for Firefox, fails to convert flv files to iPod m4v format. I contacted Downloadhelper direct but they said they do not support all platforms and suggested I look at the ffmpeg version I am using.

This seems odd because if its a license issue, my Win XP PC which sits next to my Lucid PC converts everything right from installation so I am forced to drag the converted m4v files across to the Ubuntu PC

I have followed various threads about ffmpeg and tried recompiling it with no success so far I am not a Linux expert (but getting better).

No error messages are given other than the file fails to convert although it appears to be working.

Can anyone suggest a solution?

Regards

Paul

Here's a script to do it:

If you had a decent device which had more functionality (not an ipod) you wouldn't have this issue :)

Can you help with this problem?
