My home page screen is to big and I have no location area

The home page screen is to big and I can not see the tool icon at top nor my location line.

hold alt then drag it down from anywhere in the app, you can then maximise it to make it fit. Close and test. If its still bothersome you can install devilspie and use gdevilspie from googlecode to make it always start maximised
