Unable to login to launchpad through openid

Asked by Kuku

I am running 10.4 LTS. I was having some problem with twitter and I tried to raise a support request, however, I am unable to log in to launchpad at all.

Ubuntu-Launchpad opens up fine, but when I click on the Log In link, nothing happens. The page goes blank and stays like that. The URL reads something with /+openid.

I have Firefox 3.6.x and Opera 10. On Firefox, the screen goes blank and nothing happens even for 10 mins. While on Opera, the browser just crashes after greying out.

I have installed Ubuntu to stop using Windows, but I am having to raise this support request from within Windows. How ironic is that? If you need any traces or details to help resolve this problem please let me know in advance as to what all you will need, as I will have to boot back into linux and come back to windows to post the results.

Thanks,
Prashanth

Do other sites work well?
Have you tried to use another user on the system to see if its profile based?
Have you tried disabling compiz (this is what the greying out is)?

Yes it's ironic and it's nice to finally find someone who understands the word :)

Can confirm problem is with Firefox - both 3.6.x and 4.x beta. Google Chrome works fine.

@actionparsnip: Tried the other stuff like disabling compiz and all unnecessary appearance settings. Didn't try with a new profile - well its a brand new install and I didn't have the inclination to create a new user, to be frank.

OT: I think people having trouble with 'ironic' need to listen to the similarly titled Alanis Morisette song :)

HAAAHAA only The song title itself is ironic as noting in the song is ironic at all.

Can you help with this problem?
