my web page keeps rediverting on firefox for ubuntu 10.04

every time i go into a web page it diverts to all kinds of things without me even clicking on any think some of the time it's been doing this for a few weeks and ive been trying to sort it out is there any think i can do to stop it from happen thanx for you help ok it means a lot.

What version of Firefox are you using? Does this happen with other browsers? I can't really tell if your browser has been hijacked since almost all malware that do this target only in Windows. Does reinstalling the browser helped?

i have the latest version of firefox it's on ubuntu 10.04 and yes it does effect my other browsers as well and i did try a reinstall and the same thing still happens cheers mate hope you can help.

Can you give the output of:

cat /etc/hosts > ~/ho.txt; gedit ~/ho; rm ~/ho
