I want to uninstall adobe flash player and reinstall it, how do I do that?

Asked by Jan Haney

I am trying to play a face book application and I have been having problems with the Adobe Flash Player crashing on one game most of the time. In fact I have not been able to get on the game in three days. I was told that I need to uninstall the current Adobe Flash player and re- install it and it might fix it. I can't even find out where to unintsall the program, on Ubuntu.. Please help?

to uninstall any flash player use this command:
sudo apt-get remove -y --purge flashplugin-nonfree gnash gnash-common mozilla-plugin-gnash swfdec-mozilla libflashsupport nspluginwrapper

and to install Adobe flash player go to
get.adobe.com/flashplayer

from there select
.APT for Ubuntu 9.04+

Wow! That is a mouthful (or handful?). No wonder almost everyone is using Windows. Click Start, Control Panel, Add/Remove, Adobe Flash Player, Uninstall, done! How do you remember all these cryptic-like keywords?

if you want the GUI you can use Synaptic from
System --> Administration --> Synaptic package Manager
and from there you can search all the packages and you can install/uninstall any one of them

but i gave you this command because maybe you have others flash players and this command is faster to remove them

and if this solved your problem that mark it as solved so people who have the same problem can use it

Can you help with this problem?
