How to make Google Earth work with ubuntu?

So far I downloaded google earth. When it didn't work it was proposed to do this by another user:

In my experience, the best way to install Google Earth is through the
Medibuntu repository. Open a terminal (Applications > Accessories >
Terminal) and enter the following commands:
sudo wget --output-document=/etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list http://www.medibuntu.org/sources.list.d/$(lsb_release -cs).list

When that's finished, you should find it under Applications > Internet >
Google Earth.

Hence, the program starts to open but shuts down after a few seconds.
