need info on downloading gaim!!!

Asked by dmaz

Hi, I am new to ubuntu and after a week of trying to get online we're finally on. However im having a really hard time adding gaim to my operating system. In fact I can't download anything at all to my computer because I can not retrieve it from my desktop.... Anyone out there know of anyway to solve this one? I sure would appreicate any help anyone can offer so that my children, (4 of them) can once again have contact with there grandparents. Thanks

Are you having trouble logging into the system? Or an gaim?

Okay, so then you are having issues logging into a network with the application gaim.

gaim is used to connect to numerous messaging networks, you will need to contact the network in which you are having trouble, to have them reset your password. This can normally be done via a "Reset Password" link on the networks website.

For example:

AIM - https://my.screenname.aol.com/_cqr/opr/opr.psp
Yahoo - http://edit.yahoo.com/config/eval_forgot_pw?new=1&.done=&.src=&partner=&.intl=us
