apt link associating

I am trying to install software from getdeb.net. After I press the install now button another window opens up telling me that I have to associate the apt link with an application in Ubuntu. I am new to Ubuntu and I don't know where to associate the link. I am trying to install a budgeting program. Could anyone help me? The link has to be associated with a launch application.

What are you trying to install? Is it something that is not in the Ubuntu Software Centre? That is the correct way to install new software.
