Asked by Mathew Elzby on 2010-01-21

I just switch to ubuntu. This is my first time using an other operating system aside from windows. my problem is that my is display is too small. the applications bar at the top, and the bar at the bottom of the screen are tiny. aswell as the font sizes on sites such as facebook, text boxes, and my cursor size. I have no clue how to adjust these things.

Hotkeys in Firefox:

"Ctrl" + "+" - makes font bigger
"Ctrl" + "-" - makes font smaller

This is out of my league, but what happens if you reduce screen resolution?

Gee - wish there was an "edit" feature...
FYI: Screen resolution is under System>Preferences>Screen Resolution

i tried that... all it does is make everything look dull, i need my resolution at 1920x1200 im pretty sure, but the higher screen resolution shouldn't make everything look tiny.

go to system-preferences- display [[[ if a window pops up click no ]]] now in the display start clicking on lower setting tell you find the one that is god to your eyes .. mine is 1024x768 on my 19 in. wide screen.. this will set all desktop views the same...

after getting the screen resolution set to your eyes then go to system-preference-appearance you can make adjustments to suite you ....... under themes you can customize even more ....

Can you help with this problem?
