my dongle is active but still can`t surf the net ,i keep getting page not found

I HAVE ACTIVATED MY DONGLE so that is connected , but when i try and surf the net it is like it is not connected to the net keeps coming up with page not found

Can you please give the output of:

sudo lshw -C network; ifconfig; sudo iwlist scan

Is the network applet prompting as if you are connected?

If it shows connected and still cannot browse then you are a victim of a known Karmic bug. There are several bug reports on network problem -

You could install wicd to sidestep the bug, personally I think wicd is way better but does not do 3G or VPN
