Go to Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import and Backup > Export HTML.
Then they will be stored in a file you can save.

Close all opened Firefox and try to delete your Firefox user setting open a terminal from applications → Accessories → Terminal and type:

mv .mozilla .mozilla_old

and start Firefox.

To restore previous untouched not working .mozilla settings type:

mv .mozilla_old .mozilla

Hope this helps

Okay look in Places > Home Folder

Press Ctrl+H to show hidden files

Move down to .mozilla > firefox > *.default > bookmarkbackups

and save the latest boomarks-*.json file
