can no longer listen to classic fm radio

Asked by ele

When i used to listen to classic fm radio, i would visit the site then click on' Listen live'. Then a black box would appear telling me that i was accessing using a form of Linux and if i had software installed to listen i should 'click here'. When i did that before i could listen but now it brings up the player and says 'done' but there is no sound. Any ideas? Thanks.

As a user, I tried listening to the station following the instructions and it worked just fine. I'm using U10.4. I always install the restricted format package, I suggest that and Totem will stream it. If you have installed that package I cannot help.

Hi :)

For any install of Ubuntu it is well worth running through the Medibuntu worksheet to get ALL the multimedia issues sorted in 1 easy session
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/medibuntu
This needs doing after upgrading to a new release, such as the Ubuntu 10.04 official release in 2 days time.

The restricted format package is just one part of that page so i find it more useful to do all the stuff in one go rather than having to keep sorting odd bits & bobs out. I keep the non-free components to start with, just to make sure things are working before worrying about going completely OpenSource.

Tom :)

Hi again :)

Please could you work through the first few step of this guide
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SoundTroubleshootingProcedure
and copy&paste the output into here?

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)
