How do I download and install the graphics driver for the Intel 815 for Ubuntu ?.....I am running a Dell Inspiron 2500 laptop

Try running:

sudo Xorg -configure

It should of downloaded it as xserver-xorg-video-intel.

didnt work !

still no luck and stuck in 800x600 resolution
