minimize makes whold window disappear. why?

When I click on the "minimize" button, the whole window disappears as if I clicked on "close." How do I fix this?

You are missing the Windows list item from your gnome bar

Right click the bar -> add item

Then choose Windows list and click ok

You will now see the running apps and minimise will work as expected. Without this you can actually LT+TAB and the program will appear, its just not showing on the bar

Thank you so much. It worked. I just don't understand why it disappeared in the first place.
