Seeking help to get Second Life to run STABLE

To who ever can help, Has the following:

Acer Aspire One, Intel Atom, Intel GPU / Ubuntu NBR 9.10 updated from 9.04 / Second Life Lastest Windows release.

Problems:

1. Second Life Linux found on Ubuntu Tweak will run a few minutes then freeze entire PC, only can hit power switch to restart & get going again.

2. Second Life Windows DL'ed from SL site, runs via WINE for a few minutes then comes to point it freezes entire PC as well. after which a few freezes result in SL not running @ all before full system freeze for both linux & windows versions.

Question 1: why does SL run well for 1st few minutes then freeze entire PC, then eventually even no longer run before freezing PC?

Question 2: since linden labs refuse to update SL client to run better, is anyone to be found here who can simulate this issue & find a fix ?

I have no job, living on SSi income, so It's going to be a veeeeeeeeeeeeeery looooooooooooooooong time ( December 2010 perhaps maybe even later ? ) until I can save up money to buy another PC. I want to get on SL in hopes of finding the right friend for me periodically anyway I can. With this Acer Aspire One as best I can deal.
