Did you tried to upgrade Firefox Manually? Go to Help>>Check For Updates (in Firefox)
or else you will have to update your software repositories and try to install latest Firefox from the Package Manager.
Finally you can use the easiest method, go to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/upgrade.html and follow on screen instructions.

Hi Freddy,

The Add/Remove application (under Applications menu) has the latest version of Firefox available, called Shiretoko.

Just install it from there.

Also, refer to this thread:

https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox-3.0/+question/84879

for more information.

Hope it helps.

I checked Add/Remove application and I could not find Shiretoko. The Check for Updates in Firefox is gray out. Any suggestion?

sudo apt-get install firefox-3.5

3.5 is NOT an upgrade to 3.0 but is actually a completely seperate app, there is also 3.7 which is in development but an alpha is out and (like all firefox alphas) is name Minefield

You can install 3.7 as well and have 3.0, 3.5 AND 3.7 on the same system but none is an upgrade to any other

That is for hardy and intrepid. I got the link from ubottu in #ubuntu

Thanks
