change login

You have linked this question to firefox-3.0 which it has nothing to do with. this question is regarding logon. Please link questions to the right package / issue so that they get grouped better.

Use System -> Admin -> Users and groups

Select your names and press properties. Then you can change your login name and password from there.

I did try to change the user name and password, but could not
I did have my own login, it was changed by a person at the Freegeek office
last year.......Now when I try to put my own username and password in
I can not and the system will not let me delete the current one
Please advise

You are still having a problem:
I did try to change the user name and password, but could not
I did have my own login, it was changed by a person at the Freegeek office
last year.......Now when I try to put my own username and password in
I can not and the system will not let me delete the current one

login given to me was OEM......password/Freegeek
The message I receive is "System policy prevents modifying the user
configuration"
What does this mean and can I get help changing login/pasword?

Try:

gksudo users-admin

You will then be running the app as root and should be able to modify the account. If you just want to change your password you can open a terminal and run:

passwd

This will let you change your own password.
