How to change default settings for Print to File?

Asked by pk72

Hello, I have to change the settings under Print/Print to File/Options/Headings and Footers every time I am printing. Is there a way to change the default settings for these options? These options only show up in the Print to File dialog in Firefox, not in other apps.
Thanks,
Philipp

Go to "System -> Administration -> Printing"

Select the printer you want to make default on the left column

Click the "Make Default" on the selected printer.

Click "Apply"

Anytime Philipp. Sorry I didn't quite comprehend your question, but I believe I do now. As far as I know there is not facility to 'change the default' behavior, tho it does seem to be a requested item.

Sorry I couldn't be more assistance.

Yes you can type into the adress bar of firefox about:config and then type:
print.printer

then double click on the

print.printer_PostScript/default.print_footercenter
print.printer_PostScript/default.print_footerleft
...

Delete the inserted value...

Please make this also to the othe desired printer defined

Hope this helps

Yeeeeees Marco, that was it, thank you. Only thing: I could not find the keys you told me to change but found others that worked.
For other people who want to do the same:
In the about:config of my installation I had to remove the values of the keys
print.print_footercenter
print.print_footerleft
etc.
to have the desired effect on the default settings.
Best, Philipp
