You need to run:

sudo apt-get install firefox-3.5

It is not an update but a seperate app. It will be a standard update in Karmic.

Firefox 3.5 Final is available for Jaunty by installing the package firefox-3.5 | FF3.5 is referred to as Shiretoko on your UI, see http://is.gd/1reB3 for an explanation | Hardy & Intrepid: http://is.gd/1jkNY

Ok. Now I was looking for the version info. Still the old one. Seems I have a new browser. Minefield. I just want to get rid of it. Please tell me how. I wait for the official update from Ubuntu. It isn´t even in my Language yet. ( not fuly anyway )

So, how to get rid of FF 3.5?

I did get it with: sudo apt-get install firefox-3.5

firefox 3.5 will never be an update in jaunty. It will only be an update in karmic (released in october)

you can remove firefox 3.5 using:

sudo apt-get --purge remove firefox-3.5; sudo apt-get --purge autoremove; sudo apt-get clean

firefox 3.5 IS on the official repo but is seen as a seperate app to firefox 3.0.11. You CAN install 3.5 then make /usr/bin/firefox point to the 3.5 binary to launch that instead of the 3.0.11 binary but that is not part of the post-install.

Thankx. I removed it. I know it´s not comming in Jaunty. I am happy with what I have. Is working splended.

Can you help with this problem?
