lost bookmarks

Asked by Bob

3.0.11 in Ubuntu 9.04

All of a sudden I have lost my bookmarks and restore says it is unable to process any backup file.

Where are these files kept so I can see it in fact they are still there to try to retrieve them.

Oh, for the power of a backup. <g>

Thanks in advance. Bob.

The normal files are in:
/home/<USERNAME>/.mozilla/firefox/<VARIOUS>.default/

The are no backups in normal circumstances.
And that ".mozila" directory might be wrong depending on the version of Ubuntu...
But it's something like this.

Greetings

Any idea on why they just vanished?

May be some upgrading of FireFox did it?
Did you find bookmark file(s) in the ./mozilla directory? It's a hidden directory and you can see it together with the others by using Ctrl+H in Nautilus, the default file browser.

I did a Google search and found a KB article directing me to delate tow files that where most likely corrupt.

They were and were re-built and all is fine now.

Sorry for the trouble.

Bob.
