when i try to hibernate, on switching on again, a message is there omes up saying there's a problem---unable to hibernate

wanting to save electricity i try to hibernate---it seems to hibernate. the green light on moniter changes to yellow and noise stops---but starting again-------- message comes up---- inthe bottom right hand corner of moniter a message says unable to hibernate see "help"
