Unfortunately, the Netflix instant viewing will not work in Ubuntu or Linux in general at the moment. This may change in the future however. As far as I know, the new Netflix Player relies on Silverlight 2.0. The open source replacement to silverlight, named moonlight, is currently developing their 2.0 release. However, even after this is done there is no guarantee that the service will work in Ubuntu.
