Select entire location bar URL with one click?

Asked by rumplestiltskin

The summary pretty much says it all: In the Mac version of Firefox, when I click in the location bar's URL, it selects the entire URL (all the text). In Ubuntu Intrepid Firefox, one click in the location bar's URL simply places a blinking cursor there. Is there a hidden preference somewhere that will provide the Mac Firefox behavior to my Ubuntu Intrepid Firefox?

Thanks for any assistance!

Launch the Firefox application and on the address bar, type: "about:config" (w/o the double quote). In the filter box, type: "click" (w/o the double quote) and select the item named: browser.urlbar.clickSelectsAll.
Double click the item "browser.urlbar.clickSelectsAll" to toggle the value from FALSE to TRUE. Restart Firefox afterwards.

HTH.

Ian
