Address bar types in backwards

Asked by styleruk

Here's a strange one...

In firefox 3.0.10, as I type in the address bar, it types backwards. So if I type in
www.google.com
it comes up as;
moc.elgoog.www

Anyone know why. I'm reluctant to reboot as I'm trapped in a vmware session and don't want to close firefox or even reboot.

Ubuntu 8.10 64bit
Firefox 3.0.10

I know this may sound stupid, but have you verified your left arrow key isn't physically stuck? If you typed this question on the same machine that is not the case.

If that's not the case, make sure you haven't turned on Right-to-Left. Click in the address bar and press CTRL+SHIFT+X. See if that helps.

If that fails, then go to about:config, accept the terms, and search for bidi.direction, make sure the value is 1

That's all I can think of at the moment, but if I think of anything else, then I'll come back.

Can you help with this problem?
