firefox hides my bottom and top panels

Asked by timmins

hi, I went to a website that made firefox cover both my bottom and top panels ( the bottom panel where other programs can be seen, and the top panel where my menus are located). I hope I'm being somewhat clear. I've triad many things in firefox but nothing solves it.

Thanks

Yes, F11 twice does solve it - until the next time it happens.
This should be a bug report IMHO.

Well, I even had an additional problem, that when Firefox covered the Ubuntu top bar, it also hid the minimize and maximize and close buttons.
I pressed F11 and both the Firefox and the Ubuntu bars will come up. Since I knew that it would return to the same previous problem in a matter of minutes, I had a "hunch" and right-clicked on the Firefox bar, and then I checked the "Always on top" box and also the "Always on visible space" box too. This seems to remedy both problems. I quit Firefox and restarted it and it worked. I also restarted the computer and when I opened Firefox, it also worked. So, I think that both problems are solved.

I am having the same issue. When I click of double click F11 it gives me the bottom bar, but not the top one. Where do you find the" always on top" and "always on visible space" boxes to check?

Now that is a tuff problem. My solution included having the top Firefox bar visible. You are supposed to have it visible after you press F11. Have you tried pressing the Escape key when both top and bottom bars are missing?
Anyway, whenever and however you get the Ubuntu and Firefox bars, you RIGHT-CLICK on the Firefox bar. That gives you a menu where you find a list of boxes to check. Two of those boxes are "Always on top" and "Always on visible space". You check those two and then you should have no problems.

Ah! you said you clicked F11 twice? Try clicking it ONCE.

Can you help with this problem?
