Use backspace key to return to previous page

Asked by roger

In the Windows versions of Firefox and in the Linux versions of Opera, one may use the backspace key to return to the previously viewed page. However, with the versions of Firefox made for Ubuntu -- v.3.0.8 - Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv; 1.9.0.8) Gecko/2009032711 Ubuntu/8.10 (intrepid) Firefox/3.0.8 -- this is not possible. Could future versions/revisions of Firefox for Ubuntu _please_ include this ability?

This is default behaviour in linux versions of Firefox, but you can easy change it.

type "about:config" (without quotation marks) in address bar of firefox and change value of "browser.backspace_action" to "0" (zero).

This got it done! Suggest that these "user_options" be put on the Preferences menu so us non-geeks don't have to ask questions such as mine. Thanks for your help!
