How to unlock top and bottom panel

after opening firefox me top and bottom panels are not showing. also firefox is not showing its minimizing and maximizing icon.

Try pressing F11 (toggles fullscreen-mode).

Right click on either panel and click on "Allow panel to be moved" i thought there was a simple tick box but it had a key icon instead.

It might be that the preferences in the "Edit" menu allow java-scripts to resize your web-browser window - which often does odd things like you describe

Brilliant, nicely done. Thanks for getting back to us with that. We needed one example of this question to be added to the "Solved" answers database as it happens a lot! Now people can find an answer fairly easily even if no-one's around to answer.
