drop and drag link to url now opens in open office and not with desktop icons

Having a small problem with drag and drop, Ubuntu 8.04. Previously, I would click on the url icon and drag it to the desktop and it would work everytime. Now when I do this it opens up in Open Office. Every link now does the same thing. Anyone had a similar problem?. Thanks to all Linux Lovers.

I am unable to replicate. Dropping the favicon to my desktop, then clicking it opens the URL in firefox. It sounds like your mime types got mixed up. Check your mime-type definitions or preferred applications under "System...Preferences".
