Lost Bookmarks

Asked by T Shepherd

Very new to Ubuntu and Firefox. I seem to have lost my bookmarks. If I try to generate one nothing happens. Also the yellow short cut icon in the url box is grayed out. Help please and make it simple! Thank you.

Having looked at my question again it would be more accurate to say that some old bookmarks remain but I cannot add new ones.

Ctrl B should open the Bookmarks as a side panel.

Is the problem that when you click on the Bookmarks menu the menu is really long and you cant see the 'Add Bookmarks' option at the top of the menu? Can you see the 'Organise Bookmarks' option?

It's often good to use the 'organise bookmarks' option to add folders and put some of your bookmarks into your various folders. Also 'Organise Bookmarks' is good to use to backup all your bookmarks using the import/export options.

Good luck and have fun :)

Tom
Thank you for your reply. I have tried Cntrl B and I get a side
bar. There is nothing displayed until I press "enter". Is that correct?
Because of all the things I have tried there are a lot of bookmarks
that I do not want. I tried right clicking and then deleting but they
disappear but come back when I press Cntrl B again. If I try and
organize there is nothing displayed! I think the problem is due to me
being unfamiliar with Firefox but it would be nice to get it sorted.

Thank you.

Hi, sorry to see no-one is helping you with this. Are you still having trouble? Have you explored the BugZilla website to see if there's something helpful there? Also maybe try a google search about it. Good luck and hopefully a happy new year too :)

If you are still having trouble with this then please post it as a new question. Only the most recent questions tend to get looked at so posting/reposting a question just before america arrives online gives the best chance of getting a good few answers.

If the problem has been resolved then please follow the link to the forum thread and mark it as Solved.

Good luck and many regards from
Tom :)
