Thanks but I know that I can use the 'open with' but I'd like to have it set as a default so that it plays Cd's as well.

To put what Sepu said in another way:

To set Rhythmbox as the default for playing music rather than Totem, right click on any music file, scroll down to "Properties" and click on the "Open with" tab and select Rhythmbox.

If Rhythmbox is not on that list, click on "Add" and select it from the drop-down menu.

You have to set that association for other music formats in the same way.

You can also go to System, Preferences, Preferred Applications and click on the Multimedia tab and select Rhythmbox.

Hi,
add to the list of options Nautilus -> preferences -> volumes
open CD -> Rhythmbox ## usually default anyway

Can you help with this problem?
