You right click on the file you are trying to install and select open with.
Then select wine from the list of available applications.
Why may I ask are you trying to install windows media player.
Just use rhythmbox it works just as well and integrates well with Ubuntu.

Hello

try going up a directory and re-entering the correct one, with the commands

cd ..

cd wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu

If you installed in the default place.

Also you can try mplayer as an alternative

sudo apt-get install mplayer
