Hmm... this is stange!

I think you should:

1] Ensure all v7 packages in your system are up to date.
2] Restart the box and heck your network connection.
3] Perform all steps in [https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HardyUpgrades].

If you fail with theese instructions you probably have to enter the repos manually. I'm sure you're not intended to so please try the steps above first.

One Note:

- Running a distupgrade in runlevel 5 is EVIL! :-( No matter what the Ubuntu guys had in mind when they implemented the graphical upgrader but I seriously hope it's prompting for a restart after download and run the install at least in run 3. There should not be any instance of X.org running during that proccess. On my fedora server I once got to dependency hell by doing so.

- It's generally a bad idea to upgrade an OS from one version to another. If you're just surfing, listening to music or such you'll prpbably be fine and won't notice anything. Nevetheless 'm sure advanced users will notice broken things and experts never do anything like that.
