can not play youtube video

I have just put up Ultimate edition of ubuntu 8.04 hardy for AMD 64 with Firefox 3.0 but I can not play video file in youtube or on other web I have try many things like downloading from adobe.com and unziped and extr in map /usr/lib/firefox/plugin and even use terminal for install flashplayer-nonfree and then dpkg that player and when I go to adobe.com they say:
I have adobe flash player 8.0.99.0 installed successfully but in firefox add on I dont see it and nothing happed if I try to play youtube file
here are the name off my plugin in firefox
Defult plugin,
Divx web plugin
Gcj web plugin
Helix Dna web plugin
I tunes web plugin
quick time web plugin
shockwave
totem web plugin
vlc multimedia web plugin
windows media play web plugin
what more do I need to do.... Thanks for help

Unfortunately, 'Ubuntu Ultimate edition' isn't supported - because it's a third-party distribution that is just based on Ubuntu. For all we know, they could've modified something so now it doesn't work. So if something is wrong, go ask them.

Because normally, installing flashplayer-nonfree should simply work. Or you can uninstall all flash, go to youtube.com, and let the plugin installer install Adobe Flash.

 i have the same problem but if i have Movie Player using GStreamer 0.10.21 playing a file; firefox (youtube) is working i do not know whay and i do not know how to solve the problem :(

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM I DO NOT SEE DE VIDEO-FILES IN YOUTUBE , I INSTALL FLASHPLAYER AND DO NOT WORK FOR ME PLEASE HELP ME
