how do you use the webcam in ubuntu...i want to use it in gmail... but i dont know how to... how do you do this

If you want to send videos via gmail you need to record a video, save it to a file, and then attach it to an e-mail in gmail.
An easy program to use to record videos with your webcam is cheese.
To install go to "Applications" >> "Accessories" >> "Terminal"
type in "sudo apt-get install cheese"
Once it's done installing Cheese is in "Applications" >> "Graphics" >> "Cheese"
Record a video, save it, and then attach it to an e-mail.
