Realplayer icons in Firefox

Asked by Brewster Malevich

I've recently installed realplayer 11 using the Realplayer for linux, .bin installer (http://www.real.com/linux). I need this to read media for my classes.

Now, whenever I download any audio media, the appropriate icon in the "Downloads" window is no longer my lovely Tango icons, but the Real-branded icon for that file type. For example: if I download a .ogg, the icon used is clearly branded with the Real logo and a small "OGG".

Same goes for all the audio icons in my 'Firefox Preferences' window, under the 'Applications' tab.

It annoys me to no end when external applications modify my configurations, especially with branded, proprietary rubbish. I realize that this is a trivial issue of asthetics, but it's the principle of the matter, I moved away from MS Windows and MacOS so I wouldn't have to deal with this.

Anyways, my question is: how can I change my icons back?

Nevermind,

Going to /usr/local/share/icons/hicolor/ I noticed that files '48x48' and '192x192' have new 'mimetype' folders filled with my Real-pest. I removed them and my problem was solved.
