How to backup downloads?

I have Ubuntu 7.1.

Is there any good download manager for ubuntu?

I want a download manager similar to Download Accelerator Plus or Free Download Manager or Flashget (All these are available for Windows)...

The download manager should keep listening to browser and when i click to download anything..the dwnload mgr should come in action....also it should support resume..

I tried dx4 but is does not listen to browser nor i could find any option to do so....moreover that thing does not save the state of the download if the machine is restarted.

Please help me with this...

I too have the same opinion. Looks like this problem will be solved in 8.04. They say Firefox will have better download support.

Why don't you try the DownTHEMAll! Firefox extension?

It works on all platforms Firefox runs on, and is intergrated into firefox.

Go to http://addons.mozilla.org/ and search for DownThemAll.

I use that, and I personally find that to be much better than other download managers out there.

I use "Downloader for X" (it looks like Download Manager) and Firefox plugin "FlashGot" for integration with Firefox (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/220).
