How do i Download .FLV files

Hello, i have been trying to get software i can use to download video fies from youtube and the like. Can anyone give me any help on how to go about this. i need something similar to what Internet Download manager does in windows.

Add Video DownloadHelper to firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/es-ES/firefox/addon/3006/

Then click on icon, select file and download.

@Gbenga: whenever you watch a Youtube video, Ubuntu will automatically put an offline copy of the video in your /tmp directory.

You can play the video in your /tmp directory using vlc (movie player)

The file on my PC is called FlashOPrIES. Something should be generated on-the-fly on your PC while viewing Youtube video's.
