You can make more accounts for free, so telling us you only have 1 account is moot.

Can you give the output of:

uname -a; dpkg -l | grep flash; dpkg -l | grep gnash; dpkg -l | grep swf

Thanks

ok lets clean this up:

sudo apt-get --purge remove adobe-flashplugin; sudo dpkg -P flashplugin-installer; sudo apt-get --purge autoremove; sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install flashplugin-installer

Should be fine

Sound issue using Pulseaudio with apps for example with flash contents please read http://www.pulseaudio.org/wiki/PerfectSetup
especially http://www.pulseaudio.org/wiki/PerfectSetup#FlashPlayer10

also this long thread http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=4928900 might help.

Firefox in my opinion is the best...

But I had this prob when I first installed this
great SO.

I was so shocked that all I had to do was to
open the volume and raise all the bars.

It worked after that. For some reason some
times it turns the volume down..

Hello All,

 Thanks for all the help...

I think the Pulse Audio suggestion worked because

 after that I noticed ...
in sound preferences
I had the sound OUTPUT set to "internal Audio Analog Stereo"
I choose my SB Live sound card instead
and now i can hear youtube videos

...
