netflix player

Asked by a1namill

Hi to everyone, I am new to ubuntu & linux and glad MS sent me here as im here to stay away from them FOREVER. I just have a few problems. I have until now enjoyed free streaming movies an such through NetFlix that now refuses to recognize Firefox for their instant player to work. It kinda has me stumped can anyone offer a solution ? Or a fix for this problem? Any thing would GREATLY be appreciated.

I am not aware of any current fix to this issue.. I do believe that the issue is on NetFlix' side.. What are the required browsers for viewing?

netflix uses a software called silverlight a microsoft product to play streaming and I believe it only runs on windows based PC through multiple browsers but again only windows based.

It is more OS dependent then browser dependent.

Can you help with this problem?
