How to find files saved on a certain date

I'm sure I stored a couple of files two days ago but I can't find them now. Maybe I've remembered the names wrong, or the folder I put them in. Can I get a list of the files last saved on date xx.xx.xx? (the recently saved list is not long enough.)

There is a command for that. It is nicely explained here:

For users which are GUI affirmative, Places -> search files (gnome-search-tool) has options to specify the search.
Or maybe activity log of zeitgeist helps.

Now I've found the options on 'Search for files' I've got what I wanted. Thanks for the tip.
