Hi. FWIW, I'm seeing this on a mips box that was freshly installed
yesterday (Aug 15). Package builds crash at the dh_strip stage because
/usr/bin/file is using up all 600M of memory+swap.

I'm not using a chroot at all (no disk space!). The memory explosion
only happens when running under fakeroot.

Using file 4.10-3, fakeroot 1.0.7, libc6 2.3.2.ds1-16.
