not supported archive

Asked by Lindzb

I just got a new Sony Walkman NZW-E344. It connects and pulls up the file to install setup.exe. I'm pretty sure I've installed all the 7-zip and p7-zip that seems to be suggested in other forums but still continue to receive this error in file roller when double-clicking on setup.exe...

7-Zip 4.58 beta Copyright (c) 1999-2008 Igor Pavlov 2008-05-05
p7zip Version 4.58 (locale=en_US.UTF-8,Utf16=on,HugeFiles=on,1 CPU)

Error: /home/brimhall/.cache/.fr-gf8DU4/setup.exe is not supported archive

Errors: 1

I know very little about Ubuntu (9.04 by the way) and can't seem to solve this problem. Others have said the NZW-E344 worked with Ubuntu. Also tried wine, which began to install but could not finish.
Please help.

.exe files are windowinstall files, they can not be used in ubuntu. you need tar.gz or .deb files....

Can you help with this problem?
