is there a user friendly way of connecting to mobile broadband? i don't have problem with going wireless but my dell mini9 with ubuntu 8.04 is not picking up the USB vodafone mobile broadband. I went online to find out more, realised the software needs to be downloaded, so i followed instruction and downloaded the 134 linux compatible for ubuntu 8.04 and do not understand how to proceed with the next step of installing driver.

Try this upgrade ubuntu to 8.10
http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/upgrading
8.10 has a very simple system for using your mobile broadband.

Hope that helps
