I paid for ubuntu-14.04.1 but it won"t install

 By mistake I down loaded it to my desktop and now it won't install. When I clicked on the install folder, the computer searched and reply was no program available to open with.

You don't pay for Ubuntu. Ubuntu is free. You justcontributed money to the project.

You will need to put the ISO onto a CD or use unetbootin to transfer the data to a USB stick or SD card. You can then boot to the installation media and put Ubuntu on the system.
