downloading filezilla 3.0.3

Asked by Linda slasberg

I have downloaded FileZilla but now have a bunch of icons/files in my home folder that I do not know what to do with!!

I am a newbie at Linux, using Ubuntu; I have built my first website (a very basic site) using Kompozer. I seem incapable of publishing, which is why I downloaded FileZilla as an ftp. Please help I have untold problems.

To install Filezilla i suggest you to enable the "universe" repository

Then open a terminal and install filezilla from Ubuntu repository by typing:

sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install filezilla

give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.

To publish your site using Kompozer
Go to menu: Edit -> Publishing site setting
put your ftp and other settings there.
