file-roller split and merge

I want to merge some splitted files. How can this be done without command line (cat)?

     Hmmm.... well, you can bring up the GUI from a command line, create a name for a new one, and then add whatever files to it, if that's what you want. Open a terminal and just use "file-roller" to access. I don't see where it is available from the current menus at all, but you could add it to any menu you want.

I tried this before the post. This results in *.tar.gz containing several files. That's not what I want. Best solution for me is
