How do you try to play them?

What happens when you try to play them? Do you get any error messages? What do they say?

Need more information please.

Have you installed: libdvdcss2

Look at: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu
Scroll down to the bit that says: "Playing Encrypted DVDs"
