fglrx (not installed): fglrx kernel module failed to build

Asked by tom

I am trying to install catalyst 11.11 on my Intel !5 procc. and Z87-HD3 mother board. The operating system is Ubuntu 12.04 with kernal 3.5.0.23 installed. I have tried the same build on 12.04 but with kernal 3.11 with simular results. I need this version of catalyst because the program I wand to install will only build with this version.
Please help

No apologies needed. It gave me a good laugh. :)
I'm turning your bug into a question though, since you have a better chance of getting support.

I would think that AMD's SDK would be backwards compatible and the versions you were given are minimum requirements. I could be wrong though as I'm not familiar with the OpenCL side of things on Linux. Please try latest Catalyst first.

If this is a mission-critical app and it needs Catal;yst 11-11 for some reason, then you could consider installing Ubutu 12.04.1 where the Xserver and kernel versions may match correctly:

Good advice and I think I will first try the later catalyst version. If
it fails have you a link to where I might download ubuntu 12.04.01
