libavcodec & friends version bump

Asked by Hugo Beauzée-Luyssen

Hi,

Would it be possible to update the ffmeg family packages to the debian version?
TL;DR: VLC needs 57.37.100 but the current ubuntu version is 57.24.102

This causes our snapcraft builds to fail, as can be shown here: https://jenkins.videolan.org/job/vlc-nightly/job/vlc-nightly-snap/75/console

I'm not sure this is the correct place to ask. In case it isn't, could you point me to the correct one?
If it is, could you update the version currently in yakkety (preferably before the final freeze :) ) ?

Thanks a lot in advance,

@ Hugo Beaucee-Luyssen

when looking at the Debian-PTS [1] this looks to me like both are in Sync?

The only thing I'm releasing is, that a rebuild is sitting in the "proposed" queue for Zesty (Development) 17.04 [2]

It is most unlikely for a newer version to arrive in Yakkety, just bug-fixes/security-fixes.

If you are uncertain who to go about that you may probably find some lead in the 'snapcraft'-IRC-channel [3]. Friendly Team!

When speaking about the Freeze [4] & [5] may be interesting for you.

Hoping this helps a little bit!

Salut
