HDG support? (feature request)

Dear Fenics development team,
Are there any plans to support hybrid discontinuous Galerkin finite elements?
e.g. see:
5. B. Cockburn, J. Gopalakrishnan, and R. Lazarov. Unified hybridization of discontinuous
Galerkin, mixed and continuous Galerkin methods for second order elliptic problems. SIAM
J. Numer. Anal, 47(2):1319–1365, 2009.
If there are no current plans or efforts, I would be interested in assisting with the development of this type of finite element.
